Hello!
I’m Mafer Flores, a pre-licensed mental health therapist, dedicated to assisting individuals on their journey to personal growth.
I was born and raised in Lima, Peru, and I began a new chapter in 2021 by moving to the U.S. to pursue advanced degrees. I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania after finishing my master’s degrees in counseling and mental health services, as well as professional counseling.
I have had the privilege of working in diverse settings, including running a private practice in Peru. My experience involves working individually with children, adolescents, and adults. Additionally, conducting group therapy sessions and workshops for both children and adults has given me invaluable insights, further strengthening my commitment to fostering positive change.
In my therapeutic approach, I integrate principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I believe these approaches are well-suited for my work with clients because they offer effective tools for navigating self-discovery, building resilience, and facilitating sustainable growth.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy cooking, reading, listening to podcasts, going out on walks, and hanging out with friends—mindfulness and strolls are my downtime essentials. These moments refresh me, offering a balanced perspective for both personal and therapeutic aspects.
I see therapy as a collaborative journey, and my role is to offer support, understanding, and a safe space for you to explore your unique path to well-being. Let’s navigate this journey together.
Thank you for being here!
